It results from the consolidation of three well renowned independent companies, the Wire-O Corp Inc., James Burn Binders Ltd and Lhermite SA. during the 1970's and early 1980's to form a full service supplier of quality binding equipment and materials.

The Wire-O Corp Inc. was founded in 1907 in Poughkeepsie, New York by the Trussell brothers as the Trussell Manufacturing Company, the company originally produced a line of high quality loose-leaf books. In 1934, the Trussell brothers conceptualized the "Wire-OŽ double loop binding wire" and production of Wire-OŽ commenced the following year.
James Burn Binders Ltd.is a 200 year old British bookbinding concern and Lhermite SA is an over 100 year old French manufacturer originally specialist of guillotines and punching equipment.
Today, James Burn International is an independent company which headquarter is in France where LhermiteŽ equipment are being developed and manufactured. JBI has its own operations in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bulgaria and has licensed Wire-OŽ production to JB USA owned by Spiral Binding company for the North American market.
